Slaughterhouse Five - Book Talk

Hello!
This week I read Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut.

Slaughterhouse Five partially surrounds the fire-bombing of the German city of Dresden during WWII. The book mainly follows Billy Pilgrim, an insane man who believes he was abducted by aliens. The timeline of this book jumps all over the life of Billy Pilgrim, from his life in an alien zoo, with actress Montana Wildhack, to his time as a prisoner of war, to any time in his life. the book doesn't stay in one place and flash back and forward, it has Billy "time travel" in his mind, which is something the aliens tought him, to revisit many times and places in his life. I would recommend this book for slightly older readers (11+) because of some slightly risque content and some violent-ish descriptions.  overall, this really does deserve the title of classic.

My book for next week will be Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock,

  1. Wow. I went to Dresden over the summer and it is an amazing city! From what I heard the place was heavily over bombed. What a shame. Anyway that sounds like a perfect mix for me!

P.S. The book you will read next week is Forgive Me, Leanord Peacock.
Sorry if I am being picky

    1. Okay, I'm sorry, but I hate it when people correct other people badly. It's "Leonard" not "Leanord" okay? Sorry. Just incorrect spelling driving me crazy again xP

  3. sounds like it could be a rough book. I probably wont get to it till high school. My parents say it is required at East anyway so I might just read it then. Thanks for the suggestion I will definitely keep it on my last though incase the reading changes.

  6. Hmm... I've actually been on the fence for a while about whether or not to read this. Looked fairly interesting, and actually, as I type this, I can spot an ancient smelly copy of Slaughterhouse Five that used to be my mom's, but has been hanging out untouched on my bookshelves for years. Although, quite honestly, your description may have been incentive enough to go and pick it up... :)
