Slaughterhouse Five - Book Talk

Hello!
This week I read Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut.

Slaughterhouse Five partially surrounds the fire-bombing of the German city of Dresden during WWII. The book mainly follows Billy Pilgrim, an insane man who believes he was abducted by aliens. The timeline of this book jumps all over the life of Billy Pilgrim, from his life in an alien zoo, with actress Montana Wildhack, to his time as a prisoner of war, to any time in his life. the book doesn't stay in one place and flash back and forward, it has Billy "time travel" in his mind, which is something the aliens tought him, to revisit many times and places in his life. I would recommend this book for slightly older readers (11+) because of some slightly risque content and some violent-ish descriptions.  overall, this really does deserve the title of classic.

My book for next week will be Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock,

Okay For Now- Book Reveiw

Okay For Now by Gary D. Schmidt

Okay for Now is a continuation of the Wednesday Wars book, with a new main character, Douglas Swieteck, who moves to Marysville. Douglas faces challenges such as a father with an anger problem, a older brother coming home from the Vietnam war, and everyone in the town not trusting him. His only escape in a copy of James Audubon's Birds of America. This book includes very good descriptions of whats on the page. This book includes some mature themes, and as such you might want to think about what you are reading before you get into it. The book I am reading next week is The Night Circus Slaughterhouse Five

Stranger In a Strange Land.
By Robert A. Heinlein

This book is about a man from mars. as the child of two of the first expeditions, he could inherit millions and the entire planet of mars. This man is Valentine Michael Smith. he teaches humanity of grokking and water-sharing, and he learns a fair bit about the nature of a man. This book falls firmly into the confines of sci-fi. it is sometimes a difficult read, I had to read some parts over again to figure them out. I would recommend this book to slightly older ages, just because of the technical difficulty.
